Description
The Mitsuboshi T10 PU timing belt is made from thermoplastic polyurethane, which gives the belt excellent abrasion resistance and excellent cleanliness because it produces very little rubber dust. Inside the belt, steel (or sometimes aramid) cords act as the tension member, ensuring strong tensile load capacity and very little elongation. The tooth profile is trapezoidal (T-profile), with a tooth height and body thickness designed to balance strength and flexibility.
Key Features
Thanks to the PU material, this belt is especially wear resistant and suitable for clean or precision environments. The T10 tooth profile supports accurate synchronous motion, while the strong steel cord maintains stable length under load. The belt operates reliably in a typical temperature range from around –30 °C to about +90 °C. It can run at moderate to high speeds when properly tensioned and matched with pulleys. Because of the combination of PU and metal cord, the belt has good dimensional consistency and does not require lubrication, giving it a long life under the right conditions.
Applications
This belt is ideal for applications where clean operation is important, such as printers, packaging machines, or precision positioning equipment. It is also suitable for drives where light to moderate torque is transmitted with an emphasis on low maintenance. When using a T10 PU belt, it’s important to use pulleys with a suitable minimum diameter to prevent excessive bending stress on the cords, and to properly tension and align the belt to avoid skipping or uneven wear. Regular inspections of wear, cord integrity, and tracking are important to ensure long and reliable service.
